The holiday season means weekend after weekend of get-togethers, holiday parties, a lot of traveling, and never-ending post-party skin. If your social calendar is usually booked solid, you know how draining it can be and the effect it has on the way your skin looks.

There’s no doubt that long nights, paired with alcohol and a nonexistent skincare routine are the root cause of post-party skin. I don’t want to tell you how much to drink or what to do with your alcohol of choice. Instead, I'm here to show you how you can refresh your post-party skin without the B.S. ingredients.

Sound familiar? Hey, it happens to the best of us. Luckily for you, your No B.S. glam squad is here to get your skin back on track.

Tackle Post Party Skin Like a No B.S. Boss

Alcohol is notorious for causing post-party skin. It’s M.O. includes retaining water and increasing the puffiness of your face and body, which is never a good thing. After a night of toasting and shots, your body is dehydrated, craving any source of hydration. So, the number one thing to do is to replenish your body with water, lots of it!

Now that you have your water, let’s get to the surface. There are many things you can do to quench your thirsty post-party skin, so I'm going to focus on the most effective yet easy ingredients. Remember that no matter what process you use to treat your post-party skin, that you always honor your unique skin type and use ingredients and routines that are best for your skin type.

Spice up your routine: Your kitchen cabinets are a treasure trove for natural skin care ingredients. A lot of the most common spices and herbs, including turmeric, fennel, ginger, and witch hazel do wonders for those puffy eyes and face. Got some acne forming on your post-party face? Use clove oil or chamomile to start treating those pesky little bumps.

Make good skin care a part of your daily routine: You can nip post-party skin in the bud (for the most part) with a consistent routine. I'm not saying you need to go with something extra, but being diligent with your regimen, no matter how simple, can be a huge factor in bouncing back after a long night. Check out these crazy effective and easy ways to boost your skincare game.

Do some face care prep: After a one-for-the-books type of night, lather on some nourishing night cream, like the No B.S. Retinol Night Cream or Day + Night Hyaluronic Cream. I know, it’s the last thing you want to do when you have a good buzz going on. But, just like removing your makeup before going to bed, this should be a part of your nighttime routine. Trust me, a few extra minutes will help you wake up a little less crusty.

Minimize damage on site: There’s nothing wrong with taking advantage of an open bar and letting your hair down. But believe it or not, drinking water throughout the night and making sure you have some food in your stomach can help ward off the excess puffiness and other post-party symptoms, like the dreaded hangover.

Massage your way to a better complexion: You can help speed up the recovery process with a simple massage. The circular motion will help drain your lymph nodes which are already working to rid your body of all that alcohol. No need to schedule a Swedish masseuse- simply use your fingertips to gently massage along your nose and under your eyes. If it feels good around your temples, give those a good rub, too.

Now that you know what to expect and how to tackle post-party skin, off you go into the holiday season with a few tricks up your sleeve to stay fresh all the way through new years and beyond. Aren’t you so bold?
